Cherry Blossoms from Portland Japanese Garden Art print 8x10

This is a quality art print produced by me in my home studio. The painting was done with watercolors of the the Cherry Blossoms outside the Portland Japanese Garden, OR.

The Story:

After setting aside a whole day to take the train up to Portland and fully experience the early spring florals it had in store at peak cherry blossom season, I made it to the Japanese Garden. As I sat and waited for my time to go into the garden, with my heavy paint bag in hand, I read the guide that said “no paints, inks, or staining pigments” inside the garden. I completely understand the reasoning for this yet the disappointment was still there. Of course, I took the chance to walk around and take photos/just enjoy the garden. After the stroll, I found a nice spot outside of the garden with a lovely row of blossoms and sat to paint before my bus arrived. As I was painting I heard someone say “wait…we just saw you at the waterfront!” (see my Waterfront postcard)
