The Story:
This painting was created during my second time participating in a week long plein-air event in southern Oregon. Wanting to start off simple, I went to the nearest park to the kickoff artist brunch and found a perfect spot in the shade just off the side of a boat ramp. The summer day was a warm one but my little corner kept me hidden enough from the sun to be able to capture the bright scene. I enjoyed watching kayakers, canoers, and fishers floating by.
