The Story:
This painting was done on an overcast morning in Old Town Oakland, Oregon. Having gone there to paint the historic brick buildings that lined the roads, I stumbled on this pink home with a beautiful garden. The owner was in the yard with her dog gardening and was very happy to have my request to paint. She surprised me by saying it was the end of the season and 2 weeks ago it had triple the blooms, I cant even imagine. I was able to set up and paint for about 5 hours before I felt the first of the raindrops. Scrambling to pack up before the painting got damaged, I made it back home with just a few finishing touches to do for it to be completed.
